Agadir Airport to Taghazout & Tamraght: The 2026 Surf Transfer Guide
Every way to get from Agadir Al Massira airport (AGA) to the surf villages of Taghazout, Tamraght and Aourir. Times, prices and what to actually pick if you have boards.
Agadir Al Massira (AGA) is 22 km inland from the Atlantic, and the surf villages of Taghazout, Tamraght and Aourir sit another 20 km north up the coast. There's no train and no Uber. Here's how the transfer actually works — and why surfers default to a private chauffeur.
Distances at a glance
- AGA → Aourir — 35 km · ~35 min
- AGA → Tamraght — 40 km · ~40 min
- AGA → Taghazout — 45 km · ~45 min
- AGA → Imsouane — 110 km · ~1 h 45
Option 1 — Private transfer (the surfer default)
Door-to-door from arrivals to your surf camp, fixed price from $55 for a Mercedes saloon, longboard-friendly vehicles on request, roof racks on the V-Class. Driver waits inside arrivals with a name sign and tracks your flight. Full breakdown on the Agadir airport transfer page.
Option 2 — Public taxi (grand taxi)
- Price — negotiated, expect 300–500 MAD ($30–50)
- Vehicle — old Mercedes 240, no seatbelts in the back, no luggage space
- Boards — strapped on the roof with bungee cords if you're lucky
- Catch — fine on a one-off; hard sell after 2 a.m.
Option 3 — Surf-camp shuttle
Most camps offer a paid airport pickup, usually $20–30 per person. Quality varies wildly — some are excellent, others are a 90-minute wait in arrivals for the driver to collect three different flights. Ask the camp who they actually use.
Option 4 — Rental car
Sensible if you're road-tripping the coast (Imsouane, Mirleft, Sidi Ifni). Pointless if you're staying put in Taghazout. Parking in the village is tight.
The honest recommendation
Solo with one board, daytime arrival → grand taxi is fine. Anything else — couples, families, multiple boards, late arrival — go private. The price difference is small once you split it, and nobody wants their first night in Morocco to start with a row over 300 dirhams.
Frequently asked
Can the driver carry longboards?
Yes. Tell us at booking and we'll send a V-Class with internal capacity or roof racks. Shortboards and fish fit in a saloon boot.
What about onward to Marrakech?
Many surf trips combine Agadir with Marrakech. See the Agadir → Marrakech transfer — 250 km on the A7, ~3 hours, fixed price.
